The Mooney Safety Foundation is, in fact, the MAPA Safety Foundation, a non-profit organization chartered in 1990 to improve aviation safety for Mooney pilots and their airplanes.  We have a long-lasting association with the Mooney Aircraft Pilots Association (MAPA) and appreciate MAPA marketing our services to their membership.  However, in order to reach the broader Mooney pilot audience that may not be aware of MAPA and/or our Safety Foundation, we are marketing our organization outside of MAPA as the Mooney Safety Foundation.  So, we are the same organization that provides: 

• Structured pilot proficiency programs (PPPs) in various locations across the U.S.,
  
• Aviation safety through articles, speeches, and scholarships,
• A central location for pilots to seek and share Mooney and safety information. 

The Foundation's Directors and instructors are all well-experienced in most everything related to Mooney airplanes and all share a deep passion and commitment to aviation safety.  Through our pilot proficiency program, one-on-one instruction, and interaction with this website, Mooney pilots can:

• Improve piloting skills,
  
• Improve decision-making skills to ensure flight safety,
• Increase awareness and decision-making skills to deal with maintenance issues,
  
• Improve skills to handle emergencies,
  
• Obtain information relating to Mooney airplanes and their safe operation.
